ABOUT:  A work coat with no work to do, which is the point. Deep indigo denim, heavy enough to hold a collar and stand slightly away from you — closer to outerwear than to anything you'd tuck in. The indigo loosens at the elbows and cuffs (pictures 4, 5 and 6), the seams go pale where you fold, and a year in it starts to look like somewhere you've been.

Gold contrast stitching runs the length of it. The buttonholes are finished by hand. Tortoise buttons. Twin flap pockets.

Styling Recommendation:  Wear it open over a tee.

FABRIC:  100% Cotton Denim

FIT:  Boxy fit - Get your normal size.  For a snug fit, size down one size.

• Large - Shoulder: 20, Chest: 49, Length: 30

CARE:

Don't wash this for a few months. Denim earns its character by being worn — the fades develop where you bend, fold, and reach, and washing too early erases the map before it's drawn.

When the time comes:

• Wash: Machine wash cold, inside out, on its own the first time (the indigo will run)
• Dry: Hang or line dry. Never the dryer.
